I was just curious to see what the make-up of our group was in terms of length of active interest in Buddhism. ;D

i think the majority of the group is relatively new to buddhist ideas and concepts. i personally grew up muslim and became exposed to nichiren daishonin's buddhism in april of 2002. i have been practicing since since december of 2002.... not that long, but long enough to feel like buddhism is something i want to be a consistent part of my life fo sho!!!

Hopefully we'll get more people to write in to the discussion board to tell their stories. I was raised buddhist myself.

I read about Buddhism in highschool but was only familiar with monastic life and that turned me away.
For the past 3 months I have been introduced to "Everyday Zen" and the Soka Gakkai International and learned how easy it is to incorporate Buddhism in your everday life.
I never would have found as much info without help from the club. The more I study the more confidence I have in Buddhism.

While I hesitate to define myself as belonging to any faith, I find that many of my beliefs are in tune with the philosophy of Buddhism. I began to expose myself to Buddhism through books and discussion when I was about 13, and continue to apply it to my life now.
